Department of Veterans Affairs reports 3,504 veterans with COVID-19, 174 dead

The number of the nation’s veterans infected by novel coronavirus has jumped by over 600 in the last four days. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, 3,504 veterans have tested positive for COVID-19. Just 4 days earlier, the department had reported 2,866 cases. The increase of 638 comes in the wake of warning from both federal and local officials cautioning of spikes expected this month based on COVID-19 modeling.
