Food pantry opens as part of “Veterans Serving Veterans” initiative

There’s a new resource to help veterans in the Tri-Cities. It’s thanks to a $50,000 grant to keep a food pantry stocked at the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 39. DAV Chapter 39 is located on 630 Carden Hollow Road. The food pantry is open every other Thursday at 6 p. m. Second Harvest Food Bank and Food Lion is funding the pantry as part of a “Veterans Serving Veterans” initiative. “Out of the traditional food pantry, it allows us to have them come in not just for food.
